The official inauguration of Forward Foundation International took place in Colombia on Sunday. More than 100 guests from the United States and our country attended the event. The foundation is on a mission to find and support agents of change, who despite the difficulties they face, have the power to transform their community and inspire a new generation of dreamers.

The event was attended by volunteers, contributors, the executive body of the foundation, special guests motivated to support the cause, personalities from all around the country, as well as 5 children who demonstrate the work that Forward Foundation International has been doing over the past years in several areas in Colombia. In Zarabanda, Cartagena, they have 64 children involved in the program. In addition, 35 kids work for their dreams in Puerto Caiman, Tubará. Finally, in El Banco, Magdalena, there are at least 96 dreamers.

Amanda Moore, CEO of Forward Foundation International, says that when the team of volunteers arrived in these communities, they did not know exactly what the dreams of these children were, but it was easy to see that, due to the lack of opportunities, the children in vulnerable areas often think about surviving from day to day and many times, because of this, they do not pursue their dreams.

Through the mobilization of educators, community and leaders, Forward Foundation International gives back to society using education and empowerment programs that inspire their children to move forward following their dreams.

That is why next year they seek to expand the number of children impacted by the organization’s programs, reaching several neighborhoods in Barranquilla, including La Manga, where there will be 88 new children. The program also aims at the neighborhood La Luz, with 73 change agents.

Forward Foundation International joins the efforts of teachers, psychologists, sociologists and other professionals and experts to create programs that meet their mission, such as “Dream into Action”, a program where they get to know in detail the children’s goals, as well as other factors related to them, through a questionnaire specially designed by its group of experts.

“Our ultimate goal is to find and support change agents through personalized programs and future scholarships, but we don’t just want to meet their dreams, we want to go further and be part of their environment, their lives, and teach them useful things to succeed while developing meaningful relationships with their families and communities,” says Amanda Moore, CEO of Forward Foundation International.

Forward Foundation International makes it clear that it not only seeks to help children achieve their dreams, but also wants to find and support children willing to be those agents of change for their communities who will inspire new generations of dreamers in Colombia.
